How To Treat Dad on Father's Day

With Fathers Day quickly approaching, this is the perfect time to start thinking about organising something special for the special dads in your life. For lots of new dads, 2011 is the first of many happy Fathers Day’s to look forward to and a time when he realises that the day represents a lots more than the pair of socks that he usually handballs to his dad!
Rather than being anxious over elaborate plans or spending a truck load of money, here are our 3 fab ideas to help make this father’s day a special one...

Make a card for him. No matter how young the kids are, they can always be involved with this sentimental favourite. Whether you decorate a card with the hand or footprints of your newborn (use some skin friendly washable non-toxic ink) or with an amazing Picaso inspired abstract masterpiece from your 3 year old it will be a keepsake that Dad will proudly display for years to come. Do you have a tech savvy dad? Get the kids to write him a heartfelt message and email it to him on Father’s Day, make sure the subject is sure to get his attention “To the Best Dad in the World!!” is a good one!

Make him breakfast in bed: Remember, this year is about no fuss and definetly does not involve getting up at 4am to prepare freshly baked bread (although you might need to get up at that time to feed baby!). Want to know the easy way to do it? Pop down to the local bakery and pick up some lovely fresh ham and cheese croissants and some yummy pastries. Pop them in the oven for five minutes and, voilà, instant feast!

Make it dad's day...Just add baby! Maybe you haven’t quite been catering to dads interests lately, so today’s the day! Put bub in the stroller, pack the Isoki bag with everything you need and head off to an auto show, get tickets to a footy game (especially if the kids are old enough to go along and cheer!) or just head down to Bunnings for the afternoon (don’t laugh, it’s the equivalent of an afternoon window shopping for ladies). Do you have an outdoorsy dad? Plan a picnic at his favourite spot, you can use your Isoki Munch bag to hold your yummy treats and surprise dad with your menu choices when you get there!
